Hi,

I'm currently looking at using OSGi however one of our requirements is that our product must run under Resin. I've seen the article http://blog.caucho.com/?p=213 that states "One approach is to run your application server as a bundle with the OSGi container controlling the JVM. We rejected this approach, at least for our initial draft, because Resin already has sophisticated startup mechanisms in place which didn’t quite work with that model."

This would be the approach that we would have to use as we would be using Spring DM. I am wondering if there had been any change in this since Resin 4.0 or is this still the case?

Thanks,

Sam

At the moment Spring DM it top however a requirement is that it must be able to run along side Resin.

From what I understand the code that makes up Resin would need to be put into a bundle and an activator written to start and stop it. I can find no reference to anyone doing this. Is this not possible with Resin?

Thanks,

Sam

Hi Sam,

One option to bundle Resin for OSGi might be to use our embedded container and execute that way:

Let us know if that works for you.

Thanks,
Emil
