Hi there,

We have a mobile website running php via Quercus. Up to now we've been using a mysql server for our database needs, but our DB team is pushing for a migration to sql server.

There isn't support for the mssql_* functions, I know, but I was wondering if anyone can give me some guidance on Php <-> Java interaction that will let us talk to a JDBC connection to sql server? Is this possible?

Hi Doug,

There are some docs here:

http://quercus.caucho.com/quercus-3.1/doc/quercus.xtp#Java/PHP%20integration

You can create new Java objects by doing:

$a = new Java("java.util.Date", 123);

and get Java classes (for static methods, e.g. factory methods):

$class = java_class("java.lang.System");

# System.in
$in = $class->in;

Let us know about your application too. Sounds interesting.

Thanks,
Emil
