View Full Version : Whats the future of hessian?

Its getting up to 2 years since a release, simple bugs have been sat new for longer.

To all intents and purposes this project looks dead but i dont understand what has killed it. I dont see a simple, sane alternative for java remoting. Did the developers just get bored?

I really love Hessian but with the project running dry its hard to justify including it in my projects. Id love to get involved but i fear my IO skill just arnt that good.

Here's hoping that there is life in the project yet

We're still working on Hessian, since we use it internally for Resin's own clustering, mostly performance work.

We're not looking at changing the core serialization protocol itself, though, because we're basically happy with it.

One thing we're exploring internally is messaging with Hessian. Essentially providing an XMPP (Jabber) equivalent for Hessian (and a JSON equivalent.) We're not ready to expose it, though.
