Is there any way to get Resin stand-alone and Apache to both respond to requests on port 80 on the same server with a single IP address, so that requests under different domain names are served entirely by one or the other? I know about mod_caucho but as I read it Apache is still serving all of the static files in that case. This is on Ubuntu Linux; I can't think of any way to do this because only one app can bind to the port (I think) but you guys know alot more about web server internals than I do.

Also, when I tried to preview this forum post I got a 500 error with java.lang.IllegalStateException.

Hi,

Resin and Apache can't listen to the same port (it's not permitted by the operating system), but you can have Apache send all requests for one virtual host to Resin, including the static files. Setting up mod_caucho doesn't require Apache to serve the static files. You can just set up ResinConfigServer for a particular Apache virtual host.
